TAEKWONDO

I have been taking Taekwondo martial arts at Hwang's Martial Arts for about 2 years now.  I go to train in the studio during the weeks, as well as helping teach a white belt and yellow belt class, which is kids usually between five and ten years old.  I love working at the studio, and I like having personal goals to work at.

TAEKWONDO CULTURE

Taekwondo is a Korean form of Martial Arts.  All forms of martial arts have different idealistics.  In taekwondo, there is a big focus on high and fast kicks, and there is also an emphasis on spinning and jumping kicks.  We also practice different forms.  There is one form corresponding with each belt, and in order to belt test, you need to know your form fully, which consists of around 20 or 25 steps.
In taekwondo, we are also taught about Korean Culture.  Students are taught to count in Korean numbers and are also taught different phrases in Korean.
